In 1819, the first vampire short story appeared in the English language. 180 years later, Glen Eric Reed has written the first screenplay based on the original. The Vampyre is a return to the classic horror movie, where the monster is known, and the mystery lies with the characters. Instead of concentrating on the uniqueness of the vampire, this plot examines how he affects those around him — those who accept and acknowledge his existence, and those who deny it until there can be no turning back.
