Initial Notes

Work for Taming Shakespeare began as all Falstaff Productions scripts have. Step One: Mike and Glen get together in the coffee shop section of a large bookstore. Step Two: Mike gets tea, Glen gets coffee. Step Three: Mike gets his felt-tip pen and yellow pad ready, and frantically takes notes as he and Glen brainstorm. Mike doesn’t take notes because he writes neater or faster than Glen; it just works well that way, and that’s how they’ve always done it. Following are the notes from that first meeting.

Out of these notes, a preliminary scene list was prepared, then the writing duo got together again to take some notes on that. Less than a week after their first script meeting, Mike and Glen had completed the preliminary outline for what would become Taming Shakespeare.
